CSA BASKET
CSA members participate in their own food supply by committing to a share in the harvest of local farms. Subscribers purchase shares at the beginning of the season, and each week receive seasonal produce - a subscription to the harvest brought to our market. A CSA creates a unique relationship between the consumer and the farmer. Let us be the ones who know the farmers who pick our food! By joining our CSA, you show your support for locally grown food and for the farmers that grow it.
How does it work?
The variety and bounty of the vegetables you receive depend on the season: At the beginning, quantities tend to be smaller, with a focus on lettuce, greens, asparagus, strawberries and radishes. Toward the middle of the season, quantities can be bountiful as tomatoes, beans and summer squash. By fall, the range of vegetables changes yet again, trending back toward cool-weather crops, such as broccoli, fall squash and root vegetables. It’s not the normal grocery store experience, so open yourself up the the idea of eating seasonally!
